Welcome to Zürich Walks!
I'm Brigitte Snellen, the owner of Zurich Walks and your personal tour guide.
Zürich’s rich heritage and cultural life has always played a big part in my life.
Following the challenges of years of corporate life, working as an Event Manager for various global corporations throughout Europe, I decided to focus solely on my cultural interests.
The years that followed, I enjoyed working at various Zürich cultural events such as the Zürich Film Festival, “Zürich liest” Literature Festival and as a volunteer at many cultural events. During several months working for the Manifesta Biennale of Contemporary Art, I was surprised when asked to be a guest storyteller. And I discovered how much I enjoyed storytelling and sharing my enthusiasm of art and Zürich with visitors. It was then that the idea of Zürich Walks was born!
Having a Swiss mother, Dutch father, brought up in Australia and having spent more than 30 years living in Zürich, means I have a rich cultural background! And of course, English is my mother tongue and I’m fluent in Swiss-German/German as well.
In addition, recent years spent working for Zürich's beautiful old, inner city churches, as the Sigristin (Sexton) of the Grossmünster and Wasserkirche churches, has given me a unique perspective and insider knowledge of Zürich's main churches.
I am passionate about sharing with you the best of Zürich's many historical highlights and contemporary features and ensuring you have a memorable visit!
